I just saw a pic (now I cant find it) on your sig of your older boxer with his/her ears taped, did you just do that? Just asking cause I know sometimes it takes a while for them to stay, just bein nosey I guess. Always wanted to crop Lo's ears but never did, the time committment was too huge from what was explained to me.

I'm sorry to threadjack here, but I have a question about ears.
Aside from conformation, does cropping a Boxers ears really "do" anything? I like the way Boxers look with or without their ears done. IMO a Boxers face says it all for me, however I'm new to the breed and I seem to see an even amount of cropping vs. not cropping in photos and people that I've met with Boxers. I really don't know much about the pros/cons of cropping their ears and if either of you could possibly shed some light on the topic, I would greatly appreciate it. |

Yup it was the first one.. do your pics change every time I click another page? I really wish I would have cropped Lola's.

I personally prefer natural ears but am not opposed to cropping. The reason I like the natural ears is because their movement/positioning can really tell what they're thinking. My last Boxer would put one ear kind of on top of her head when she was feeling mischieveous. I called it "evil ear"! I am really not familiar with pros/cons of crop versus noncrop. Duke's ears are cropped, but I did not do them. When I got him, they were still taped, but I stopped taping them. You could kinda see what that got me... one ear up, one ear down
. It's kind of interesting, though, because he can hold that other one up. Once again, depends on his mood. Even though I prefer natural, I still rescued Duke even though he had cropped ears.
