It really depends on what your wanting to do with it. It is pretty much like a big I pod. My son has the Ipad but he really doesn't use it for anything he couldn't do on his ipod. My understanding is that it won't replace the need for a laptop/desktop. I do a lot of writing and photo stuff so for me it would be more of a novelty item or convenience when traveling. I am looking into the kindle fire...best of both worlds and half the cost.

Then the iPad is the way to go, IMHO.

Get a Stylus pen:

Highly recommend it!!! I never thought I would use it but once you get it, you use it for everything!! Facebook, iMessage, boxer forum (yes! There's a free app for the forum), grocery list, etc..... Do it! You won't regret it.

I absolutely love my iPad! I use it everyday, I love playing my games, reading books, and surfing the Internet. I hardly ever use my laptop because I'm always on my iPad. The one con would be not having adobe flash player because some sites I need to use for work, I can't use my iPad for. I would love for the iPad to be able to download adobe flash player sometime. Needless to say I would definitely recommend getting one!
