On a lighter note not ALL was negative here from Sandy.
My local fish store that I go to for most of my saltwater aquarium stuff and have become good friends with everyone in there hired me yesterday. I was in there a few weeks ago and during that particular visit put the feelers out to the owner Rich if he was going to be hiring anytime soon. He said it was possible so I let him know I'd like to possibly on the list of potential hires. Well a couple of weeks and a bunch of visits later I was in there yesterday to pick up some battery operated air pumps to help keep my tanks water oxygenated so the fish survive and low and behold he hired me. I'm going to be doing services on clients tanks which pays a nice $20/hr, about twice what I was expecting to get paid I will also be doing tank delivery, installation and setups for people that just want to buy the tank and enjoy it without getting their hands dirty. Sooooooo screw you AND thank you Sandy- now give me my dam electricity back!!! LOL On a serious note I could care less about being in the dark, so many people lost everything. I'm more happy about the job also because I have officially gotten fat, lazy and a slight bit introverted for lack of a better word. With not having to leave the house at any designated time and no schedule I have to follow I felt myself forming a shell and staying in it. It's gonna be good for me to join the living again. The extra money never hurts either though lol. |

Awesome news on the job!!!! Being in the dark does suck but you are right, you have a lot to be thankful for. My heart goes out to all of those affected by Sandy. Congrats again on the job.
