Was without power for 11 days. Went out 6 pm on that Monday night of the hurricane and came back on last night at 6:30. I unlike most here don't hate or blame LIPA. It was a natural disaster. Stuff happens and NOBODY had the capabilities that people are expecting them to have.
I feel horrible for the people that lost loved ones and/or their homes so a measly 11 days with no lights/heat was no big deal. The girls were retarded as always and were chasing leaves around the yard in 75+mph winds. They couldn't even run straight but were acting like it was any other day. ![]() The fish survived but I lost all of my corals because I gave my generator to a friend that needed it way more than I felt I did. I had enough food in the stand alone freezer to feed the girls until a few days after the storm then just went shopping each day for meat for them. Ok well that's my story in a nutshell. |

Glad you're back up and running with minimal losses. Sorry about your corals though.

Lol - thanks. Still no power for our street, but all the streets around us have power back. We still have power cables down in the street and a pole down. Still haven't heard from the insurance adjuster / claims person yet. Oh well, all in good time I suppose. Maybe tomorrow will be our lucky day. Jimmy- glad to hear you got your power back.

Glad to,hear you got,power,back!!! Lynne, I hope it's,SOON for,you!!!
I was very lucky and was without power for,7 hours!!!!! And no damage to my house or yard!! Irene hit me much harder... I was without power for 6 days and a huge oak tree in my backyard (no house damage, just to,the lawn)... Georgie reacted the same way as your girls with chasing the leaves... (And barking at the wind!!). Once the lights went out, she was unbelievably calm and would just lay and rest next to me!!! It was as if she knew she had to be good (I was stressed enough already). I was so proud of her!!! But, she made up for it the next day!! How did the girls like their first snow?! Georgie LOVED it.... |
