We got our power back
today around 1:00 pm.It was a long 12 days without. On day 4 we were lucky to find a generator to buy. I'm sure it will get used more than once. It was hard to buy gas the first week. Hubby and our neighbors were taking turns driving out to Tannerville PA (about 40 miles away) to fill all the neighbors gas cans. And right now the state is on odd /even for gas. There are still plenty of people who still don't have power. I pray they get it back soon. ![]() Now that we have our power back, we can start dealing with the clean-up and the damage. Okay, now for some pics. I'll start with the neighborhood. This silver crumpled thing was a carport that used to be over the now naked pick-up - 2 houses down from us: This house is on the street below us. The tree "gently" fell against his house with minimal damage to the house. He was very lucky: This next pic is of the tree roots of the tree that fell on our neighbors car: The neighbors car was not so lucky. So, of course the next pic is our neighbors poor flattened car: Now to our yard. This is our large Maple tree (notice the spot where there used to be a branch) ? Here are a couple of our crumpled fence: And this used to be our shed: This is what we saw from our back door: So now we will start getting estimates from tree companies and fence companies and for the shed. Our phone wire is still attached to the house but got ripped off the pole, so it now runs across our neigbors yard and then across the street. The phone company is coming to fix it on Thursday. Hopefully it won't get ruined beforehand. So that was our fun with "Sandy" It's good to be back. |

So glad to hear that you have your power back. It is definitely no fun when the power is out like t hat. Glad to hear that you were able to find a generator (best thing we ever invested in while living in VA). So glad that you & your family were not hurt, remember sheds, fences & wires can be fixed.
