Thanks Lynne! I'm also hoping for Lyme. Definitely the lesser of evils in this case. I'm almost positive she tested my sed rate and protein back in June last year and it was normal, but the medical charts online don't show that specific test. I remember seeing something about protein in my results before.

So now I'm really nervous. I haven't gotten my blood test results yet, they're normally posted online in my portal. I had a voicemail from my doctor's office saying that they're referring me to a rheumatologist. I didn't get the voicemail in time to call them back so now my stomach is in knots and I'm freaking out that it's RA or somethiing worst. I honestly don't know what's worst, RA or Lyme disease. I won't have more info until tomorrow unfortunately.

Yikes!! I hate not knowing when it comes to stuff like this. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's the lesser of two evils & maybe the doc just wanted to discuss some stuff with you. (trying to be positive) Keep us posted.
PS. How is Abby doing??

I spoke to my doctor's nurse/asst a little while ago and got my test results. My sedementation rate is normal. Lyme came back negative. The c reactive protein I think she said was normal. My rheumatoid factor was elevated. She gave me a number of 456. I can not for the life of me find a place online that says anything about a number this high so I have no idea what this means. All they would tell me is to stay off the internet (haha right) and not scare myself anymore that I already have. She said that it could be RA or something else not as severe and basically that these numbers don't mean a whole heck of a lot. What? They're refering me to a rheumatologist for further testing. I'm going on 1/29 @ 2pm.
Does anyone here have any info on RA and what these numbers mean? I'm waiting very impatiently for the doctor to release my results so they'll be on my portal and I can see exactly what they're saying. Until then I guess I'm supposed to just sit here and pray? Ugh!

My youngest son has food allergies (wheat, dairy, corn) so we have to find alternative ways to make sure he gets enough calcium. He eats lots of whole foods that are rich in calcium but we also give him vanilla almond milk (Silk brand). He occasionally has to take a cal-mag supplement. When he does need a supplement, we buy Nature's Plus brand because it's derived from natural sources which your body absorbs more readily than the chemical based stuff that is ALL OVER the place. Whole Food carries this brand but we order on line at the The Vitamin Shoppe because it's cheaper. Good luck! I hope you feel better soon!!!

I just called her and she said the RA factor numbers you said doesnt ring a bell with her. She said she would have to look back on her bloodwork. She has had it for years and its usually under control with Imbril the meds/injections she takes. Sorry that wasnt much help
This was good info though and it seems most sites give the same info: What is a normal rheumatoid factor Rheumatoid Factor: The Test
