I just signed Ryleigh up for the AKC Companion Animal Recovery. Do any of you have this? I thought it was a good thing to have. It's only $15 for the entire life of your dog. You set up an online profile and if your dog is ever lost they send out an email to everyone signed up as well as animal shelters and vet offices within a certain radius of your home with a picture and your dog's information. I want every bit of protection I can get on my girl. I'm hoping I never have to use it but for $15 it gives me a little extra peace of mind. I also signed up to receive emails so I can be on the look out for any lost dogs in my area.

That is the link so sign in to your account. It will let you create a profile and add pictures there and they save it in the database. If the link doesn't work (because I'm on my phone) just google AKC CAR and there will be a link that says Update Your Records. You might have to set up an account but just login with their AKC or CAR number. Sent from Petguide.com Free App |

Carmen is microchipped, but we have to pay a fee of I believe $50 annually. She also has on a tag and so does Midas. Midas came from a shelter and was microchipped as a puppy (my husband had Midas before we met), but I have no idea how to update the information on his chip.

The thing is Midas was chipped by the low cost vet clinic that is connected to the shelter that my husband adopted him from, but my husband has had Midas for over 3.5 years and I guess they don't keep records from that far back so I don't know if I should get him chipped again or what. I just think two chips with two different addresses would cause some confusion. I just never let either one of them out of my sight when we are outdoors.
