Talking Evaluation of boxers

I have wanted to get a Boxer since I was a small kid. Finally, after researching and finding a good breeder, I made the leap. It has been a great experience and Knuckles has been a joy to have in my life. He has a very good pedigree and his health testing has all been good. Except for an unpigmented third eye lid on his right eye, he has grown to be a very beautiful pup. He is 8 months old now and I have been training him on the show lead since he was six months old. He stacks very well and has a good gait. Recently, I noticed that his neck is a bit short. Being that I have little experince with this breed so far, I would like to know if his neck will grow a bit more during the next few months. He is already 23" at the withers, so I hope he doesn't get too much taller...lol.. but when I look at the type of boxers that are regular winners in the show ring they seem to have rather enlongated necks. I attachede a few pics for anyone to look at if they like..any comments would be welcome....BTW...this is my first post and I think I will really enjoy this site...

Welcome to the forums, it's very hard to tell from those pics, try to get a friend or family member to get a full body side shot of him while you are stacking him, that's the only way to tell if his neck is in proportion with the rest of his body.

What a handsome boy. He's nice and beefy, too. I wish my male would fill out, darn it . Welcome to the forums.

HAHA !!! Well Christine, I actually think that he is on the skinny side....But it's probably because I am around him all the time and I probably don't have the perspective of meeting him for the first time...that's the main reason I want everyone's honest opinion. I think I am too emotionally attached...><

Well...here's a couple of pictures that I took tonite. He is still young (just turned 8 months) and was excited about the treat in my hand, so his topline does not look very good (plus he needs to go to get a haircut....he never has gotten trimmed...I am waiting until I get him used to the sound of clippers). Is his neck too short??? That is what I have been trying to figure out...I need other peoples opinions here

Okay, am I crazy, or am I the only one that has never heard of giving a Boxer a haircut??? I've been asked by people if my dog(s) have been shaved, but this is due to them naturally having short coats.
