The funny thing is, until we got boxers, dogs were never allowed in our bed, at least not while hubby was in it. Then we got Patch, that changed the very night we brought him home. Patch slept with us until he was around 8 months old and only got out of the bed by his choice. The following year we got Pumpkin and hubby brought her straight to the bed too. She didn't sleep with us for near as long as Patch did because she likes to wander in the night and check out the house.
Then the Pumpkin Patch litter came along and we went through a bunch of sleeping details ranging from one of us staying up all night to take care of them to daddy finally putting them all in the bed one night so we could both sleep that night. It didn't take long for them to outgrow that situation and we went to one of us sleeping in the bed with the pups while the other slept in the living room. This lasted for about 2 more weeks until hubby decided they were old enough to sleep on the floor with the other dogs....needless to say, I didn't get much sleep for a few weeks following this decision. Now when one of us is in the bed, anyone can join but if we're both in the bed, hubby's rule is first come first serve. Right now I can get away with having two pups in the bed at night and its usually Tag and Blaze that ask but occasionally someone else wants to join in because the nights are getting colder and we sleep with our windows open. My only saving grace has been that the pups are now allowed the full downstairs area while we sleep instead of just the bedroom. The boys usually sleep in the living room on the couch or chairs and Flash usually sleeps on her bed by my side away from the windows, snuggled with Daddy dog. Mwahahaha, but as soon as the opportunity arises I usually put as many dogs in the bed with hubby as I can get my hands on. They don't see him enough and so love their stolen time with him. At night when we're watching tv, he'll usually have one in his lap while I'm squished with 3 so I figure since the bed is much bigger its only fair right? |

Wait 'till we get our Christmas cards going out. I have plans for ties for the boys and bows for the girls. We've been working hard the last few weeks training them to sit together where we want them. Next week we'll introduce the "props" for our family Christmas pic to get them used to it. I'm actually really excited about the card exchange this year, can you tell? Lol.
