Ok, let me preface this question with a statement: I am a teacher of special needs students: I have a teacher's assistant who apparently loves the Westminster dog shows, so today I was showing my students, and everyone else who walked in the room
. SO my question is....are there really long-nosed and short-nosed boxers competing seperately?....and since when is the standard different on their muzzle length? PS: please don't let the fact that I'm a teacher affect the way you judge my grammer and spelling, I get off at 4:15. Thanks

No judgment here on the spelling.. I am a teacher too! If it wasn't for firefox I would spell everything wrong! It puts red lines under my words for me
Anyways.. back on TOPIC.. LOL. I have NEVER in my life heard of a short-nose or long-nose boxer. I have never shown dogs and am fairly new to the breed but I watch a lot of the dog shows and have for a while. I think your TA is confused or maybe getting his dog breeds mixed up? Its hard to correct someone that thinks they are right though, so maybe just say oh ok and move on.. haha. P.S. I am a lost, csi, house fan also. Among a few other NCIS, and ALL the law & orders |

Ummm yea... never heard of short-nosed or long-nosed boxer's... I mean I've seen them but normally cuz' they are a mix or from poor breeding...
I don't watch Dog Shows religiously or anything but I have seen Boxer's being judged but never like that! lol They don't know what they are talking about. I know how you feel tho... when someone makes a comment and they seem SO SURE OF THEMSELVES that it makes you question yourself!? lol

Nice to know someone on here that are aware of those stuff! all I know about short nosed boxers, Euro's boxers are usually shorter than usual boxers that we see here in america or around about, but that is all? but i don't think that really does emphasize that long nosed or short nosed... Hope someone else can answer that question better than me |

Well, until the Boxer Club of America changes the Standard of the Breed, there is only ONE standard and one breed variety.
In the dog world as in the world in general: MUCH IS SAID AND LITTLE IS KNOWN

I have yet to convince my M-I-L that there is no such thing as a toy Boxer thats its a mixed breed dog made took look like a mini Boxer. Her answer is.. "Yes there is I seen it"

As someone who is showing boxer there is no long nose boxer. That is not to say that some boxer do have a longer muzzle. The ABC standard states that the boxer muzzle should be 1/3 the size of the head.
