she accually looks alot like miss Ziggs and she is 3/4 boxer and 1/4 shepherd and I can prove it LOL I got the dna test online as we had issues with my daughter walking her since my daughter was under 18 (and still is) and the cops kept messing with us ( law in Indiana must be 18 to walk a pitt or pitt mix ) so now we have a laminated copy of her dna to show anytime anyone says she is a pitt mix or even mostly pitt or we have even heard all pitt we had the momma (full boxer) and the neighbor had the shepherd/ boxer who went through 3 fences to get to mine after we had been sooo careful to not let Buster near her we still had a litter of 12

Do you own or rent? If you rent, maybe you can move across the line to Montgomery County...or do they have similar laws. I think those laws are a bunch of freaking BS.

The Boxer Dog Breed. All Your Questions Answered. The dog holding the ball on this page is a dead ringer. I fooled everyone in my family that dog was Demi but it's a boy though lol.

The mother of the teenager has an axe to grind with us previously and the one who's been pushing for her to be a pitbull. She had an altercation with my girlfriend last year and blocked our car in and slapped the phone out her ear the day after this happened. Demi was boxer for a couple of days until as the ACO guy said she was pointed out for reclassification likely by her the mother.

She has been in there for since July 19th and the earliest she can get out is October 10th when her hearing is and it could take up to 15 days after that.

The pound has been discouraging me from taking DNA test. In fact the Animal Control said it didn't matter but the Department of Environmental Resources who runs the hearing said we could. I had a meeting with the Chief Director of the Animal Control because Demi was sick, underweight and dirty one day my girlfriend went up there. He again tried to discourage us from doing a DNA test and said that Demi could be mixed with American Bulldog and he couldn't tell but is holding her anyway because she had pitbull characteristics in her body shape. But I plan on doing it if they don't try to stop me on our next visit.

I also plan on suing them. I am going to use the BSL law against them for endangerment. I have been tracking their website for the past two months and they have had numerous pitbulls that are mostly labeled as american bulldogs but are way under weight or boxer mixes and sometimes exotic breeds. I am going to request their records for two years. Either they are unqualified to identify breeds or they are by their own laws recklessly adopting off pitbulls to people in the county.

Good news is Demi is back home today after 4 months and already taking her beating from her best vicious Chihuahua clan mate and killed a field mouse. She's a little skinner, scarred some and calmer but pretty much good old Demi. My best friend appreciates that she isn't licking him to death like normal.

Glad to hear that you got Demi back. I love dogs of all breeds (to own, I love bigger dogs). I have always said that any dog can be mean, it depends on the way it's brought up.

Thanks. We made fools out of the AC and the woman who's son got bit at the panel hearing. We had pictures and vet records and I found the person who sold her to me and got him to write a letter and send pics of the parents. She's actually 1/4 mixed with english bulldog.

The lady AC person who was leading the case claimed that Demi was lunging at people inside the cage. Yet when we broke out her family pictures they claimed it wasn't her and that she was brindle. How can you claim the dog is vicious yet don't even know what color she is?

I don't know where you live but in Ontario BSL is enforced municipally. So different areas enforce stricter than other areas. I would recommend you spay her and muzzle her when you are out in case you get stopped again. I'm guessing she's under 8? If thats the case they could deem her illegal and take her from you. I also hate this law. Nikki has CKC papers for this exact reason. I'd hate to lose her. I love pitbulls and have rescued a lot of them. My sister also had one. I agree its the owners not the breed. I hope you never have another bad experience but unless you can prove her breed I would take precautions. My heart goes out to you. So many innocent dogs taken from good owners.

Poorly bred boxers can look like part Pit or part Am. Bulldog. I know that Dempsey doesn't look purebred to me, either, even though I was told by the rescue that he is all boxer. I pray you get your baby back soon!
