I'm going to be a first time boxer mommy!! The breeder's wait list is one year but it will be worth the wait when we bring her home! Now the fun part: shopping!

Congrats! I'm a first time boxer mommy too and loving every ( well almost every) minute of it! Wyatt can be a "donkey" at times, but I love my snuggle buddy!!! Wouldn't trade him for the world!

Aloha! I will be adopting our first Boxer next week as well! Although I have researched a lot about the breed for MONTHS and MONTHS and have wanted one for years- I feel completely unprepared all of a sudden! I didnt even have this much aprehention about brining home my second child! Ha. But now that my girls are 3 and 5 we decided it was time for a boxer...
Any tips and tricks for me? |

Thanks ladies! I love the goofiness of the boxer personality. Are your boxers good with your kids? I have a 3yo and a 18 month old. All the boxers I've known have been wonderful with children. Did you guys do obedience classes? Any tips/tricks for new time boxer mommies?

Hi & Welcome from TX. Congrats on the new fur babies. I have 2 boxer babies (Pheona is 20 months & Murphy is 3.5 months), they are AWESOME!! I agree, puppy proof your home now. I thought baby proofing was bad but puppy proofing is all together different. Speaking of which...caught Murphy on the couch yesterday (furniture is off limits other than our bed but just as I told her "off" she grabbed a tissue & ran). Pheona has been through training classes as well as a trick class. Murphy will be starting classes once she's had all her shots. Our first dog we didn't have the money to do training & OMG...big difference. Everyone in here is great with answering questions & helping you out.
