So... my husband was looking for ways to help Micky get his muscle back once he is feeling better (which happens to be now, btw). He came across canine body building, and was rather intrigued in it. He claims it would be the perfect way to compete with him, since he has personality, and that he is not eligible to be a "normal" show dog (lack of papers, fancy coat, etc). The fact he LOVES to do one of the poses most dogs hate to do, my husband thinks he will have a slight edge on the competition.
He claims to have found a forum that talks about the SAFE way to do this, with talks about what look is desired (a very sleek and "sexy" dog), and much more. His interest in doing this has shot through the roof. Mostly because he is a highly competitive person and wants to involve our son. Has anybody done this before or thought about it and chose not to? I just wanted to know if anybody here has a body builder, and what to expect.

Oh I know it will come back, and thanks to you, it has calmed hubby down a bit. But once he started looking, he figured that he could show him in body building... His butt is starting to come back, we no longer can play the xylophone on his ribs, so it's all good. It's just something hubby discovered and was interested in.

He has meningitis that the steroids caused him to drop down in his weight as well as giardia. Once we got the giardia to stop being a total menance (normal poops again!) his weight came back on. He goes back for a re-check on Friday for the giardia (and with his poop today, I am a bit worried!)
You know what... I think I will let him just go ahead and do it. What are we going to lose? Our sanity?! That's been long gone.

Hey I got a question and my dog is on a mixture of raw and dog food because I feel like the just meat isn't giving him all he needs but I have a question about body building and I've heard 2 different things to do. 1. is to let him eat as much protein as possible and make him drag a chain or 2. let him eat all the dog food he wants and make him run about a mile or a mile and 1/2 everyday what do y'all think is best for him?
