They advertise on hoobly.com (not a good sign). They also have three litters all within a month. (another iffy). They also price their pups which looks like according to color (flash being a little bit more).
They say they health test but see on their bitch Gerogia that only a holter done, and her pedigree is a bit unknown. I try and make sure that all the proper testing was done and complete, as anyone can say they health test but they should be able to funish copies of the results All in all - cannot really judge them by a website, but the things I pointed out above are starters to ask for more information. |

When you say the pedigree is iffy how do you mean? So I should ask if she has proof of the health testing? If someone has more than one litter at a time this is not good? It is so hard to find anyone. I understand why people who a looking for puppies get them at a BYB. There are a million out there. I was excited thinking that I had a good one....

I would request the hard copies on the health testing of the parents as well as see when they were done. Also how old is the parents? Most testing should be done around two years old, and I would prefer to see a holter done every year or every two after that. Also make sure they test for heart, thyroid and hips too.
Pedigree iffy meaning many dogs in pedigree from unknown kennels. When I see a dog who has Marlbobo Man as a dog in their lines, makes me wonder and hard to trace to see what and who they were. To me a pedigree is more of a health guarantee. You can see the lines of the pup, some familiar names, and trace them back to see if they are healthy, still living and if passed of what? Many dogs with kennel names are easy to trace, but ones like Marlbobo Man are not. Who are Rukus and Cheyanne that are the momma of the puppies. She does not have the sire because on the home page it links his kennel, but there is no info on those two bitches - that were bred. Do they own them? Are they health tested? Having so many litters - three in a row back to back is not a good thing. It takes time and research to do a breeding, and many people who do tons of these breedings are looking for $$$ and not taking the breed into consideration - steps get missed, and more pups unwanted into this world. Here is a link from Jennifer's Site that has some questions you should ask a breeder. Look thru them, and see how the breeder answers them. I think then you can make a firm decision on if they are the breeder for your or not. I simply cannot judge them from a site - as its not really fair to them without knowing things - however only pointed out some things from the site, that I would have to research further and get more info and answers before being ok with things!! http://www.newcastleboxers.com/claims.shtml http://www.newcastleboxers.com/breederquestions.shtml |

Hang in there...taking the time to do the research will greatly increase your odds of having a booger baby that lives a long healthy life! Few things are harder than watching the spirit of a Boxer trapped in an unhealthy body! Blessings!

Thanks I have some work to do!
I am researching the breeders this time. I lost my 5 year old boxer who I bought from a BYB. She was having seizures along with other things. It is very hard to watch....I dont want to ever do that again. So what I need to do is stop looking at the pictures of the puppies and research the breeder. The pedigree confuses me so I will go back and look at it. I am going to Jennifers sit and look at the questions and ask some of them. I dont care if it is a female or a male. I have this thing for white boxers. Right now I have a 3 year old white boxer. So I will keep doing my homework. Thanks for all your help Lisa |
