I think the difference between large and small breed food is just the size of the kibble

Thx, Diezel(L) is 5, Lily(F)is 6, Ginger(R) is 7 1/2.
Ginger has the boxer sensitive stomach. She has problems with chicken, milk bones and occasionally other things. She does well with Fromm and 1 tbl spn canned Blue buffalo mixed in.

Cute pups!!! Glad to hear you're having good results with Fromm. Really think I'm leaning toward them. When they were pups and getting 1 1/2 cups per meal, i assume it was 3 meals daily? Guess i'd start with the large breed puppy formula for a couple months then go with the adult formula.

Yes it was 3 times a day until Lily was about 18months. Then we switched to twice a day. We rescued Diezel when he was 18 months, so he has always had only two feedings a day here.

Our 4 month old was eating Royal Cainin Boxer Puppy. We ran out of food and didn't notice so we ran out to get some but they didn't have the brand she was on and went with what we thought to be a healthy brand Pure Balance-grain free, venison & pea recipe but she has had the runs for 3 days now.
Should we go back to the Royal Canin or is that even a good brand? Not sure what to do, I actually thought all food was created equal but like I said in other posts, I'm new to pet ownership.

Is pure balance at Walmart? I could have sworn I seen that brand there. Anyways there really is a difference in good quality kibble aposed to not so good.. big thing I found and I spent countless hours researching is the comparison of ingredients, reviews online about the kibble and the company it self such as how many recalls they've had etc... royal canin is not a brand is turn to, I think for the most part any kibble found at a grocery store is likely going to be crap... check out Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor and see where they're rated also a great site to point you in the right direction.

The breeder will be feeding the pups Blue Buffalo Life Protection Chicken and Brown Rice for puppies. It seems to me that Blue Buffalo is on a downward trend and thats why I'm asking for advice on what i should do.

Is it still considered a good food? Do i immedietely begin transitioning to something else (grain free)? Should i just see how things go for a few weeks before making a decision?

PS-Im hoping to stay in the range of 45-50 bucks for a 30 lb bag....so id gladly take recommendations on other foods that will stick roughly within that budget.

Thanks for the help!
I'm not here to promote BB, but I have been using it since my guy has been a pup, and never had any digestive issues whatsoever. Not even diarrhea once. I think you have to just do your research and pick what works best for your dog.

Thank you 4paws I will check it out and yes it was at Walmart.
Lesson learned-Walmart is great when you runout of things late at night but not when your going to have to be going out side multiple times a day with a squirting dog...lol
