I feel like there is a new thread exactly like this every time I turn around. All pups are different, comparing doesn't really do you any good. Now if you put up a picture and asked if your pup looked under weight then we could actually give an opinion. And not all vets understand want a lean dog is, they personally would like to have a heftier dog so they tell you they need to gain weight. Boxers are not hefty dogs.
This is Ries at 6 months

I think my Zeus is a little on the large size for 17 weeks. Here is his growth chart up to now:
Zeus @ 8 weeks: 10 lbs. Zeus @ 9 weeks: 13.3 lbs. Zeus @ 10 weeks: 16.6 lbs Zeus @ 11 weeks: 19 lbs Zeus @ 12 weeks: 21 lbs Zeus @ 13 weeks: 23.2 lbs Zeus @ 14 weeks: 27.6 lbs Zeus @ 15 weeks: 30.4 lbs Zeus @ 16 weeks: 32 lbs: Apr. 17 Zeus @ 17 weeks: 35 lbs. Zeus @ 18 weeks: 38.6 lbs. Zeus @ 19 weeks: 41.2 lbs I started him on Solid Gold Wolf Cub, but he didn't seem to like it much. I now have him on Acana Grasslands & Halo Spots Stew. I mix both of those together & he loves it . I also quite often buy him liver & beef roasts(cooked) & freeze it in portions to give him occasionally to add extra protein. *We take him to the dog park every day for at least an hour or 2, so he gets alot of exercise too. Boxers are a lean, active breed. I got my boy at 6 months & he was 45 lbs, my girl was 4 months and 22lbs. I took both of them in for complete physical's (at seperate times) the vet looked at them, looking all ribs and legs, and said almost the exact same thing for both of them. "Don't let anyone make you think they are too skinny, this is an athletic breed and this is how they look as pups, they will fill out" And sure enough, Dodger is 10 months old now and you can see his ribs but they don't stick out anymore, he's filling out nicely - almost 70 lbs now!!! If they're eating, and have a healthy looking coat and lots of energy when playing - don't worry, they'll fill out. :-)
