I'd try the Pacific Stream. The Prairie does the same thing to Dempsey.

We just switched to TOTW pacific stream from puppy chow. Maggie had worms and the puppy chow didn't help. You can see the difference on my other post about underweight female. Maggie's been on TOTW for about three days and is already gaining weight. Poops look good and she loves it.

But how much do I feed her. She's anorexic at around 20# but were on the mend. Do I feed based on current weight or what she should weigh as an adult? Puppy chow based on adult weight so I'm confused.

Murphy is eating about 3 cups a day. She 3.5 months & at last weigh in was just over 23 pounds. That is feeding her based on her weight with age. Pheona is on adult food & eating about 3 cups a day too. Murphy just started ignoring her afternoon meal and so far so good. I remember Pheona eating an afternoon meal till she was closer 6 months but she was also smaller & I guess all dogs are different.

How much are you feeding now? Be careful not to overfeed; it can cause diarrhea, too. If she's doing well on the amount you're feeding and gaining weight, you're on the right track. You can increase the amount, as necessary (check the back of the bag - but remember, it's just a loose guideline), but do it slowly, so as not to upset her tummy.

I feed Dempsey 3 cups a day, but he's an adult. I believe puppies may need more if they're in a big growing phase.

Yes it is just a guideline for sure. Our food shows 5-7 month olds should get 3-3.5 cups of food a day. But Duke was still acting hungry after that so we put him back on 4 cups a day for now.
