My little man ate out of a bowl fine for a while then all of a sudden, he only ate the middles out of his meal and left the outer ring. It went on for a week or two... to the point where we switched foods to Orijen thinking he hated his previous.
Then one day I decided to pull some out of the bowl and hand feed him. He immediately started eating out of my hand. Next time, I put his entire meal on a regular dinner plate, and now he's eating his full portion every time. Reef is an EATING MACHINE. Messy... but an eater none the less. ![]() -Jim |

lol, this reminds me of my girl Mya. When she was younger she refused to eat out of stainless steel bowls cause every time she got to the food at the bottom the dish would make a popping noise as she pushed into it and this freaked her right out.
So we switched her to a ceramic bowl instead, lol. Well I am happy that he is more comfortable eating off a plate, it looks very messy! lol

Cute, messy but cute. LOL Towards the end with Maggie she stopped eating out of a bowl but if we hand fed her or put her food on a plate she'd eat. It does get messy that is for sure.

Well the mess on the mat was from my first plate spot. Then I realized he wanted to walk around the whole thing eating off the plate and cleaning his mess as he goes. Now hes in the middle of the kitchen... and takes a break from the plate to eat the floor kibbles every once in a while

I can't give Sally a Ceramic or Stainless Steel bowl....
She has a habit of throwing her bowl as soon as she is finished... a stainless steel bowl it becomes a very noisy game (she plays this down the street when she sees one a shop keeper has left out for dogs...) and with this same habit a ceramic would be smashed and then dangerous... She also managed to smash the larger plastic bowl I bought her, so she is back to her smaller puppy bowl... I really do need to buy her a bigger one, her nose barely fits in it... :P |
