Default Need help determining how much to feed my Dexter?

Help!
I have decided to start making my own dog food since my Dexter has allergies to chicken and possibly grains and gluten. I need help with what to make for him and how much to feed him. I have just started with a simple recipe of lean ground beef, over-cooked rice and carrots and adding " The Missing Link Plus" He is not even 4yrs old but he already has joint issues.
I have been feeding him 20 oz a day (10oz twice a day, should I feed him more?)

I will be very grateful for any suggestions. I was also thinking maybe getting a very good brand of store bought food to mix in. He was eating Kirklands Salmon and sweet potato (which he loved, but he threw up all the time) before that he was eating Simply Nourish Sweet Potato and Salmon (which he ate but didn't seem to like it and it made him gassy, poopy and throw up)

Thank you!

Maybe he's allergic to salmon or sweet potato? Have you tried a different type of protein? And sorry to say rice is a grain, so if he's allergic to grains definitely don't be giving him rice! I'd talk to your vet. Do you know for a fact it's allergies or are you assuming it is?

Since he started eating the Salmon he stopped having liquid poop and was able to put weight on. He seems ok with rice, hasn't been sick in 24hrs
I am trying a different protein now, we are trying lean ground beef. And yes my vet says it is most likely allergies due to the fact he always rubs his face and his eyes get all gooey. My vet had first thought he had pancreitis due to enzyme levels but an ultrasound showed a healthy pancreas. So then the vet mentioned possible allergies and changing him to a LID food whiched helped, but not perfect.
