Wish I could help, but don't feed Orijen.
Hope Rally is okay. Maybe take that bag back and exchange it for a new one? Or e-mail manufacturer and ask if they changed anything in the formula. I think they have so much time before they have to actually change info on the bag itself. |

The formula has changed. The company was taken over by an American Group. I will look to see if I can post the article that I read.

Lexi hasn't been on through her first 28 lb bag (Acana grasslands) yet for me to notice any changes in the kibble color/forumla. I do know that her kibble seems to be more colored like the darker ones you're holding though. She transitioned over from Royal Canin smooth though, and hasn't had any abnormal poops now that she's on straight Acana. Hope your dog's tummies feel better though! |

The Acana Pacifica formula now has canola oil in it (if you check the Acana web site) but sites like chewy and wag still show the old recipe that has salmon oil. I wasn't too thrilled about this, either.

For as long as I can remember, the Acana Pacifica has had canola oil- I was going to put my guy on it 4 months ago, but this deterred me from it, so I don't think that part is new

Hmmm.. I feed Orijen; The regional red one.
I haven't tried any of the other flavours... I emailed them asking for more information for you. I'll let you know when the get back to me. I really hope they haven't changed everything; This is pretty much the only food I can get Bosley to eat... *edit: the bag I have has the darker kibbles as well... |

The Original Acana Pacifica Recipe:
Boneless salmon (natural source of EPA, DHA), salmon meal, herring meal, russet potato, peas, whitefish meal, sweet potatoes, salmon oil (preserved with vitamin E), sun-cured alfalfa, boneless herring, boneless flounder, natural fish flavors, pumpkin, turnip greens, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, apples, organic kelp, cranberries, blueberries, juniper berries, black currants, chicory root, licorice root, angelica root, fenugreek, marigold flowers, sweet fennel, peppermint leaf, chamomile flowers, lavender flowers, summer savory, rosemary, vitamin A, vitamin D3, vitamin E, niacin, zinc proteinate, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, vitamin B5, iron proteinate, vitamin B6, manganese proteinate, copper proteinate, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12, selenium, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Enterococcus faecium fermentation product The "New" Acana Pacifica Recipe from their web site: Boneless salmon, salmon meal, herring meal, whitefish meal*, green peas, red lentils, whole potato, boneless herring, boneless flounder, herring oil, field beans, canola oil, sun-cured alfalfa, pea fibre, natural fish flavour, whole apples, whole pears, sweet potato, pumpkin, butternut squash, parsnips, carrots, spinach greens, cranberries, blueberries, kelp, chicory root, juniper berries, angelica root, marigold flowers, sweet fennel, peppermint leaf, lavender, rosemary It is my understanding that this "change" took place around sept, 2012. I really hope that they aren't going to ruin a good thing; that being the Acana and Orijen formulas! I ordered my current bag from chewy.com which lists the original recipe on the site, but the actual bag is the new formula. I haven't decided what I am going to do yet because both of mine are doing so well on it. If I do switch, I am going to switch to Fromm grain-free. |
