Great article. I recently started all my pups on coconut oil. They do love it.

My 2 have been on coconut oil for a little while now. Still giving 1/4 tsp. Not sure when to increase it. I had a vet tech a while back tell me to pick either the fish oil or the coconut oil & she'd say go with fish oil. Well guess what....I still give both. They get the fish oil at breakfast & then coconut oil with supper. I don't know why I separate it but that is what I do. I have noticed that both have nice shiny coats. We haven't given baths in a little while either. I don't want to give baths right now with how cold it is outside.

I would suggest just a slight increase, try that for awhile and see how they do. It just has to be increased slowly

What is the difference between pure and extra virgin coconut oil? I understand extra virgin is unrefined, but I can't really tell if pure is as good. It doesn't specify if its unrefined, cold-processed, etc.

I'm guessing it isn't as good since I paid $14.99 at GNC for 15 fl oz of organic extra virgin and about $5.30 at Walmart for 31.5 fl oz of all natural pure. May just use the one from Walmart in cooking...
