Default homemade treats

I am so excited as we got a food dehydrator for Christmas. Now I can make stuff for the dogs (as well as sending stuff to hubby when he deploys). I am curious how many have made homemade stuff for their dogs & what kind of stuff you've made?? I'm trying to decide what I want to make for the dogs (meats or veggies).

I make homeade treats for them, but not with the dehydrator. Let us know what you make and if they like it. (I might want to invest in one of those) LOL

Thanks!! I sure will let everyone know. I might have to take the dehydrator outside if I do liver for them. I don't like liver at all. LOL I know my girls love bananas. I warned my boys if they eat one to sit at the table & pushed in or Murphy will just help herself. We are still working with her on not begging or just trying to take the food.

So we just pulled out our dehydrator & it actually has some recipes in the booklet that came with it for dog & cat treats. How cool is that??? I'm super excited.

I save my liver treats as a high value treat it is the best one I have found for training they will do ANYTHING for them but they stink when you make them also even though they are dried store them in an airtight containier in the frezer for longer shelf life or they tend to get green around the edges after a few weeks they still are ok for them to eat but leave a yuccky residue on your hands

Thanks for the tip. Should I "flash freeze" them so they don't all stick together?? Those might be good treats to use when we go for walks. They are always so excited when we pass a yard with a dog in the yard. They automatically think that dog is their friend & want to say hi. We've come across some that scare my husband & I. The one house the dog actually had a hole in the fence that he/she could shove it's head out.
