Murphy is currently transitioning from Ben freedom to totw. I have no issues with the BB except that you cannot get it in a 30lb bag. From what I've read the totw is just as good for them as the BB. I've seen all these posts about feeding raw duck and hearts ect. This may sound silly but is feeding raw exactly what it sounds like. Going to the store buying raw meat not cooking it and just feeding it to them. I ask because I would like to give him some meat every now and then with his food as a little treat and when some things are on sale. Also what kinds of meats are good for them to eat and what sections and how do you generally prepare it to give to them. I know it's a lot of questions but I would really appreciate any input.

I'm glad you started this thread. Every two weeks or so I would crack and egg and put it on top of lillys Blue Buffalo. She loved it. For treats she would get cooked green beans (one or two at a time), cooked carrot slices, apple slices and small slices of peeled sweet potato, the occasional piece of broccoli and Brussels sprout. As far as raw meat, i am also curious because even though it is part of their natural diet, it terrified me that I was going to poison her with raw meat..... so i never tried it.

You should not be giving raw meat with kibble. It will create stomach upset. You can feed raw meaty bones such as rib beef bones or beef marrow bones as treats. Mixing raw meat and kibble is not suggested. |
