The Feeding guideline on the bags is just a suggestion by adult weight. It varies from dog to dog depending on activity levels or even metabolisms are different. I would increase him to 2 cups twice a day and see if that helps put a bit of weight back on him.

Ya, he is a little thinner than I would like to see. Increase to 2-2.5 cups per feeding and see if it makes a difference.

On Blue Wilderness I was giving around 5 cups a day to keep weight on Duke. Don't be afraid to bump his intake up. Go by calories needed for his weight, not the bag.

Increase slowly,his stomach may not welcome too much more kibble...or serve 3 meals/day.
He is thin for a 5yrs old...Valant is an Hippo compared to him
