It's been a really long time since I posted here...
Kiefer is currently on Blue Buffalo dry dog dog food, I believe its the basics brand. He chows down on it. We feed him twice a day, and give him treats, he's always begged a bit and continues to dump the trash (either out of boredom, or he is truly hungry.) He is pretty much sedentary as far as physical activity goes. We try and get him to the park, but with work schedules and my wife being 8.5 months pregnant, hes not getting his workout until the weekend. So with that being said, it would make sense for him to gain weight, but instead he looks skinny, maybe too skinny? Should I be concerned, switch to a different dog food?

Not sure how old he is but my Duke looks like this, even a little skinnier. He is only over a year old and all leg. They go through a lanky phase. I know I feel bad too that he looks a bit skinny....but from what I understand they fill out. To your baby looks good. Love his markings and his color BTW. Duke is a Flashy Brindle too!

Looks just like my 1 yr old, PERFECT!
I always get asked if she's too skinny but if people saw how much she eats they would think I'm over feeding her. I do a cup of kibble, rice, chicken thigh, pumpkin and a spoon on Greek you yogurt Sent from Petguide.com Free App |

Kiefer is actually 5. Not really a puppy anymore. We've been adding cottage cheese, and yogurt and an occasional peabutbutter sandwich. He seems fine, but friends have come over and said, "do you feed your dog".

Can you post a picture of him standing from the side. His above picture looks completely normal to me. Boxers are suppose to be lean, you are suppose to be able to make out the last couple of ribs. Obviously if you are seeing spine of hip bones then he needs a little more food. You have mentioned WHAT he eats but not how much.

We give him one and half cups (1 1/2) for breakfast and dinner of dry Blue Buffalo basics. He pushes me out of the way to get to his food. The package says for a 60-80lb dog give 3-3/4 cups per day. Ill see if I can find a pic of him standing up from the side and post later. We have been exploring other dog foods as well, our vet suggested Science Diet? im pretty sure its because they stock it there though. We've always taken the approach of finding dog foods with meat ingredients as the first two ingredients.

Blue Buffalo is a far better kibble than Science Diet! Don't let your vet pressure you into switching to that.
