Authority No Grain

All: I am jumping back into the world of boxer ownership after losing my female boxer 2 years ago. I was devistated after having her for 13 years. Anyway, my question is a lot has changed with dog food since I got my last dog 15 years ago. Back then my breeder had her dogs on Eukanuba which was considered a pretty good dog food in the late 90's. My dog stayed on it her entire life and was very healthy until cancer took her at 13 years old. So now I am researching dog food and was pretty shocked to see that Eukanuba really isn't much better than Pedigree but double the price. I was pretty set on going with Blue Buffalo and went to Petsmart to research some cages, foods, toys ect. I noticed that Authority now has a NO Grain formula. I campared the two bags (Authority and Blue Buffalo) and was pretty surprised to see that they are pretty similar. I also looked at the websites that rate the foods and Authority NO Grain is rated 4 out of 5 stars. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Authority. I have seen that may people like BB just wondering about Authority. Thanks

I've used Authority Grain Free with Dempsey, and he did fine on it. I'll be using it in my rotation, along with TOTW Pacific Stream. The price is definitely right! As long as your dog does well on a chicken kibble, it should be fine.

Blue Buffalo Freedom is also very good, but it's expensive, IMO.

I have a question about rotating food, How often do you do it? We are on TOTW (the bison one) and may switch up the flavors or even brands. How much is the Authority for 30 pounds?

I can't get 30 pound bags here - the biggest is 15 lb. right now in my area.

I rotate every few bags; not all the time.

Currently the grain free food does not come in a 30 lbs bag. The largest size is 15 lbs. This is what I feed my dogs and here it is $18.99 for a 15 lbs bag. I have two dogs and I go through about a bag a week.
