I took Porsha up to a cottage last weekend where there were a few other dogs. There was a lab, golden, English bulldog and a frenchie. Everyone got along which was amazing and they all had a blast playing. The first day we were there I thought Porsha had a bladder infection - she must of peed 15 + times that day. The dogs were playing all day and were going into the lake to drink frequently. I was watching her when she peed - there was a good amount coming out, no usual odor and she didn't seem to be in an discomfort. Porsha started going into the lake to go pee. She did this multiple times.
Has anyone ever experienced this? Or do I just have a weirdo dog?
Aspen ALWAYS pees in water. We do a lot of hiking and trail running, if we come to a stream Aspen pees in it. When we go to the lake, Aspen pees in it. I have no idea why, but it's her thing. Its gross when my golden retriever is swimming or drinking downstream from her, haha.
Aspen is a big "marker", if I let her she would pee on every blade of grass when we are out, so I'm thinking the water is some sort of advanced marking strategy? The water deposits her scent downstream?? Weirdo.
LOL I thought it was so strange and everyone was like "whats wrong with your dog" lol They can be such weirdos. Maybe because there were so many dogs she felt the needs to claim the lake lol.
Yes or maybe it was just something new and exciting for her? lol
