What is OK for Boxers to eat

I have had boxers (2) for the last 23 years, and have kept them on a pretty strict diet (Prem. dry dog food, and occaisionally some left over beef or chicken, and licking the bowl of ice cream).

I have been under the impression that dogs are perfectly content eating the same food everyday at the same time and in the same place (they like routine). I see and hear about people feeding their dogs fruits, vegetables, yogurt and other human foods. Do dogs like a variety?

My question is...Is it ok to feed my boxer fruits, vegetables, yogurt, other meats than chicken and beef. Of course, in moderation.

I have been told turkey, pork and dairy products are not good for boxers. Is that true? I have given my Boxer all three in little quantities, never a problem. My friend has a pitbull that loves bananas and watermelon..is that ok to feed a dog...?

I am sure I will get 20 different opinions from 20 different people, but that is ok because I would like to hear what people are feeding their Boxers outside of "Kibbles n Bits".

our pup looooves fruit. We give him strawberries, cantaloupe, bananas, watermelon. Very little though. As a treat. I wouldn't feed him a bowl of strawberries, personally.
He also loves carrots. I am just a little paranoid about him chocking on one, so we supervise that consumption very closely

My dog loves some fruits and veggies, not too many she hasn't liked. Bananas are her favorite fruit so far. Carrots she likes, she likes them both cooked and raw. She also loves cucumber. I give it to her whole. I just wash it, cut off one end and give it to her. She will spit the skin out and eat the inside. There are lots of other things she likes but that's just a few. Another thing she liked was frozen fruit. I tried it once when she was 7 months old and teething. She wouldn't use the teether so I tried it. She loved it.

i have fed only home cooking since the chinese food poisoning. rice; meat, both cooked and raw; veggies, raw and cooked; eggs; washed, cooked, dried and ground up egg shell for calcium; fish; bananas, apples, etc. pretty much whatever we're eating without spices.
my 15 month old has had nothing else since 4 weeks of age, he is gorgeous, shiniest coat i've ever since. my new puppy the same.
there are plenty of pet food recipe sites available with a google search.

Stay away from grapes and raisins! Although Struddell managed to eat a rather large box of raisins , we called the vet and he told us to just keep an eye on her. She never had a problem with them...stupid dog! Nonetheless..no raisins or grapes!

We do feed Rocky (GSD) Greek Yogurt, and cottage cheese. In processed foods keep and eye out for the salt content! And watch out for Splenda and other sugar Substitutes!

Yes it is okay to feed human foods - depending on the food.
Mine get a spoonful of greek yogurt in their kibble every evening.
Mongo LOVES bananas ( I have to hide to eat one if I don't want to share)
He also loves oranges, carrots. They both love red peppers but it gives Mongo heartburn so I don't give either of them that any more- can't give to one and not the other so nobody gets it. There are plenty of other foods they get including raw chicken thighs, raw egg, etc.
The list would be too long for me to post what you can feed (nothing too salty though - sodium content should be under 100 mg per serving) so I'm going to post a list of foods NOT to feed as they can have toxic effects.

DO NOT FEED THE FOLLOWING:

Alcoholic beverages
Apple seeds
Apricot pits
Avocados
Cherry pits
Candy (particularly chocolate—which is toxic to dogs, cats, and ferrets—and any candy containing the toxic sweetener Xylitol)
Coffee (grounds, beans, and chocolate-covered espresso beans)
Garlic
Grapes
Gum (can cause blockages and sugar free gums may contain the toxic sweetener Xylitol)
Hops (used in home beer brewing)
Macadamia nuts
Moldy foods
Mushroom plants
Mustard seeds
Onions and onion powder
Peach pits
Potato leaves and stems (green parts)
Raisins
Rhubarb leaves
Salt
Tea (because it contains caffeine)
Tomato leaves and stems (green parts)
Walnuts
Xylitol (artificial sweetener that is toxic to pets)
Yeast dough

My boys are both on a homemade diet, chicken, beef, basically what meat we eat just no seasoning on their meat.
They love fruit, watermelon, apples and bananas.
They like carrots raw but watch closely.
They love French fries and pizza crust but only as a treat.
I give frozen yogart as a treat on a hot day..
I've been wanting to try corn on cob as a treat but haven't yet
