Well, looks like maybe moving overseas, and traveling a lot, for a new job starting in a month or so. Unfortunately, taking Mr. Hank with me would not be feasible.
:cry_baby:
So, what are the best ways, and how do I go about, finding Mr. Hank a new home?
I agree. A fee shouldn't be the concern. The concern should be finding Hank a good permanent home. I would definitely surrender him to a rescue organization (preferably a Boxer rescue). They can focus on finding the right home for him.
I would recommend a rescue as well unless the breeder you got him from can take him back?
Did you get a contract from the breeder? Some say you must return the dog to them if you can't keep.
And a location in your profile other than " the heart of darkness" my prove useful, someone on here may know of a rescue near you if the breeder thing does not pan out, although it should.
or could be someone on here may even be interested depending on where you are located. I thought some time back you mentioning that your mom may take Hank should this overseas job pan out.
I hope you will spend time and find him a permanent home. I feel so bad when anyone has to rehome. I felt just so guilty leaving Kai for a few hours while he got neutered, we all felt like we were abandoning him. But he got a new crate bed, and new toys to keep him busy when he got home.
I'm sure you could find someone on here to take him for free, being that your the one making the lifestyle change. Poor Hank! I hope he does well with the transition!
Well, it is rough having to leave Mr. Hank. Did not think this was going to happen, but life changes and sometimes is dictated by work/jobs. To be honest, I do not really want to leave the area I am in, and want to keep Mr. Hank. But, looks like do not have much choice. Either stay in the area and not have a job, or move overseas.
No, there was not contract with the breeder and not taking him back to him.
May have a close friend that wants him, waiting to see about that.

That's a bummer. Hopefully your friend can take him and will keep in touch with you. Is this overseas thing permenant or just a few years? Maybe the friends can "foster" hank while you're going and when you get back you can have him again...?
That is what I trying to work on, maybe have him foster Hank for a year or two.
