So here I am again..... Talking about kibble. Cooper is almost 2 years old and I've switched his food twice since he was a puppy. He doesn't ever seen excited about his food and will only eat it if he's very hungry which is only twice a day. He's on natures recipe which I believe is pretty healthy for him. I sometimes cut up carrots or add boiled chicken when he doesn't seem to eat a lot during the day. He's 53 lbs and very healthy but I want him to really like his food. Any suggestions? Should I change his food again? Or I should I change the flavor.
How about Raw? It's not everyone's cup of tea.. But Duke loves his breakfast and dinner now, in the morning he sits at the fridge usually with a bit of drool..
It might not hurt to switch up their food.. I'd get sick of the same thing after awhile... Does the brand you have make other flavours?
Is it hot/humid where you live? I sometimes think this weather makes one not too hungry where I am anyways so muggy outside... I for one am not.. All I need is water and something small to eat..
Yes @4paws it is hot here in California today was 104. And yes they do have other flavors I can try. Not sure if I will go RAW though. But I heard that's good. Cooper doesn't have a sensitive stomach so when I change I can add the other flavor to start. Thanks for the input. I love when others give advice. Thanks 😊
If you go to Merricks site you may be able to find it locally one of our feed and grain stores carries it. I stumbled across it and some of them are fantastic! The Turducken, comes to mind! No way will he walk away from that because he is bored!
I do think Merrick was bought out by Purnia however and folks aren't too happy about that. But I have not seen another canned food like those!
They might be in your local feed and grain store and you can buy individual flavors and cans if you can find it locally.
Do you have a budget for your dog food? If so, let us know and I'm sure we can offer up some suggestions on foods your boy would probably like better and are better for him.
I have found that Amor eats less of the grain free and it seems to last longer between meals if that makes sense. I'm about ready to ask the vet if we could try another flavor of her brand if food. She's been on this one for about 3 months now. They have venison, and kangaroo as the novel proteins. She currently eats rabbit.
I was satisfied that in fact lawyers are at the root of the "issue!" I had been using it for years and Rocky was using it and no issues! A good quality Kibble at a reasonable price!
I figure if you use the food sooner or later you would start to see "rumors." So now you know, it appears to be a none issue!
I made a switch anyway because I was looking to add Glucomsamine & Chondroitin to Rocky's diet and the Victor's was one of the few foods that already have it! So it was a win-win for "us!"
Another one is Zack's a regional food that is also very good but hard to find depending on where you live. They are starting to make their way into Costco so it made start becoming easier to find??
Most likely your guy would be happier with any of these three??
