Oh son of Cliff!!
How is your dog's eye doing?? Just so you know... I was very upset and concerned when I had heard what happened!! I know you had said it was going to be OK... so just an update!
I just loaded the PDF so I will look ,
but in general...do they take the temp into consideration when they do that test and how do "there" Boxers fare??
I stumbled into a frequently discussed and rather heated controversy in GSD land, when I first got there! The OS dogs are not looked upon with favor there!
Spec is 88 llbs for adult males, my guy is 116 lbs! I had no idea! One had best have their flame proof suit on!
Lot's of name calling and closed threads follow those "debates," but it has gotten a lot better! I try and help and I think I have, toned it down?? The fact of the matter is an OS GSD is simply too big for the "job" the GSD was bred to do! The dogs are both too long and too heavy!
Try repelling down a cliff with 116 lbs pounds of GSD strapped to your back and that would become quickly clear!
But hey as a family pet, the bigger the better! Usually the "debates" end when I start doing stuff like this:
Mods close the threads! Shorty thereafter!:cry2:
But Boxers while not used in Afghanistan by and large are the ideal weight! The Euros would be the Boxers of choice of course!
And as for me personally... while I have still not worked with a full Euro Boxer, I have worked with a few Euro/Americans and I have been extremely impressed!!!
If you know what you are doing...those guys seem to have a built-in "off switch!" Extremely quick to get down to business! Nothing to complain about.
Based on that, I would say most likely a "full Euro" would not be a problem for me?? But my girl set the standard of "Goofy" for me and that is still "kinda" what I want I think?? But I have taken what you said about the Euro's into consideration...after all bottom line...it's a "Boxer."
I bolded the question in Blue, because as you know I tend to add a lot of details but that part is an actual question.
trying to figure out a balance as it were.
