I have what we believe is a boxer /pit bull mix. Just curious if anyone else has one. Ours is about 4 months. She is super smart. Seems to have lots of skin issues already though. Just looking for pictures, advice in food, their temperament, what size yours is, or any health issuesThanks in advance.

Heres some pictures of my Lilly

Piper is about 35 lbs. Her temperament is definitely more pittie, but she has the female boxer bitchiness. She's fine one minute and fed up the next. She's around 7 years old. She was born with both of her kneecaps displaced and fused. The vet swears she will need corrective surgery to fix them, and we would totally do it if necessary, but she isn't in even the slightest bit of pain and it doesn't slow her down in the least. She pittie burns with the best of them and despite all the vet's flexing and extending and palpating her knees, she just looks around and wags her tail. He doesn't quite understand it, but I'm not paying to fix knees that aren't causing her any issues. She had seasonal alopecia last year, but she isn't having any issues this year. We feed Fromm Adult Gold.

My boy Loki is suppose to be Pit Boxer. Sometimes I think I see the Boxer part in the way he runs and his gait, but mostly I see Pit and NO offense to pit owners but Loki is a bit dense :) I love him but he is not any where near as smart as the two Boxers Ive had. He's sweet and tolerates Kippah and her bitchiness, he is very velcro and loves to cuddle(sometimes too much like when Im trying to sleep and he literally has to have his nose right up against my neck which he does often) but he just isnt the brightest bulb on the light string

Uh yes here! My intro to Boxers was with my first Boxer/Pitt mix Stewie and I lost him way too young! I could not find another Boxer/Pitt at the time and I went for the next best option a Boxer!

As I already had a BullMastiff/APBT/Lab and Stewie was nothing like him! And unlike my actually Boxer Stewie had a built in "off switch" he understand when it was time to get down to business! He was a joy to work with and freaking brilliant!

My Boxer...well Struddel had a hard time taking anything seriously! But we got it done! :)

She itches a lot. Some places she was scratching so much she was making it raw. Then she'll get these bumps, that kinda look puss filed. They go away on their own in a few days, but others always come back. Her stomach seems to break out a lot in red tiny bumps, but that doesn't seem to bother her. I took her to the vet for the itching, they said she had mites. They told me the flea pill she is on, will help with them? She right now takes the NexGard flea and tick pill. It hasn't gotten worse but don't know if it's gotten better either.

I'm surprised your vet did not recommend a Kenalog shot?? That in most instances helps to get them over the worst of the "issue" and gives other more holistic options a chance to work. Worth asking about or maybe it's time for a new vet...don't know??

Gunny had severe flea allergies, other that that, he was as healthy and as strong as a horse.. Sophie (sister) has no allergies and also as strong as a horse.. Gunny wieghed about 65 lbs at 2yrs old, Sophie weighes about 90 lbs now... both have/had wonderful disposition to them, but very protective and territorial. both love pups, but not dogs, unless they came into the house as pups. both LOVE babies, adults (if they know you), but dont you dare try to enter the house from the back door.. it would surely mean certian injury to your persons.. the back yard is off limits to anyone they dont know. Gunny looked pure boxer, while Sophie looks like an agentino doge she is large and in charge.. of everything.. lol.. i for one do not believe it is totally in how they are raised, i believe that some of it has to do with dna and certain markers within, for temperament, (as i have raised pitts, boxers, labs, mixes of both) not all are the same.. but you can tell early on. i would insert pics of them, but honestly, i dont know how, but you are more than welcome to see my small album here, or friend me on facebook to see pictures galore, of all my fur babies from 4 weeks to current.

it could be as simple as a grass allergy, Gunny and Sophie both had issues when they were tiny. i second the coconut oil. i think what the vet gave Gunny for his flea allergy to get it to clear up was cephelexon.. i cant remember, its been a long time. (maybe some benadryll as well) i do remember washing their bellies with a cool wash cloth when they would come inside.. seemed to help, and Sophie still loves that (she is 5 now) =)

Yep that is it! Rocky as well. He also gave him Fish oil, but fish all is more complicated, they also need vitamin E to access the components in Fish Oil.

If you get vet "prescribed" Fish Oil you see E on the bottle. So the people Vitman E won't do them any good and too much E is toxic!

Coconut oil they can consume also and you don't have to worry about it! Not the cooking Coconut oil, however! The article gives the correct type!
