I have a story that happened today that scared me!
So my mother came to visit and we were all in the living room talking while Zeus was playing with one of his toys he's destroyed. The toy was a purple monster I got from the dollar store, and to my surprise it lasted him a good 2 months. (It was cheap)
This toy was a decent size, probably meant for a medium sized dog, like a beagle.
Anyway the toy had lost it's stuffing, horns, feet, everything. It was basically just a purple rag. But he LOVED IT. That toy went everywhere with him.
Well my mom looks over and says "Zeus just swallowed something!" I immediately KNEW it was that toy. He started gagging and I rushed him to the back yard. Nothing was coming out so my friend comes out and stuck her finger down his throat. He threw it up! Thank god. I was so scared and I went inside and threw all of his small toys away. I know he probably swallowed it by accident but I am not taking any chances !

Whats the craziest thing your dog has swallowed?

You are so lucky that your mom saw him swallow it and that you were able to get him to throw it up. I had a schnauzer at one time that swallowed a sock, had to run him to the vet to get a shot to make him throw up, took awhile but he did. Otherwise its costly surgery :( So far we haven't had anything unusual swallowed , at least that we know of. :/
Always something to worry about.

The strangest thing Amor chewed was an unplugged power cord. In fact she has done that 3 times. All times they were unplugged. One to my space heater, my ex roommates aero bed cord, and my power cord to my old lap top that my daughter used (she left it on the floor near her little "den".) She only swallowed a small piece once that she vomited up 3 days later.

I brought Roxy to a friends house once around the holidays and they had a cheese log about the size of a baseball...I looked and she had the whole thing in her mouth like a tennis ball and was carrying it around. She dropped it on the carpet and did not eat it.
My friend washed it and put it back with the rest of the appetizers!

My boxer eat a whole block of cheese when she was a puppy. My family leave stuff on the counters after they have made their sandwiches (not me) and she must of just swiped the cheese.

She threw it up, it must of hurt. Other than that she has eaten a whole chocolate muffin including the cake case, and she nicked a whole Italian Christmas cake and ran through the house with it in her mouth with me running behind trying to catch her. I was on the edge of my nerves during this period of her puppyhood due to all of the food my family leave around. It has stopped now on the whole.

My rescue Maverick(who has passed)was a eating machine. His list: Decorative bath soaps, numerous knee high panty hose, loaves of bread in the plastic wrapper, stuffing from a pillow, throw rugs, blankets, 20 jalapenos that were drying in the sink for poppers, his E collar, then the remote. Everything he ate was always when my mom was taking care of him.

She came to visit one time and was making hot dogs for lunch. My husband and I were working in the yard and Maverick was inside with my mom. She comes outside and says "I have to run to the store, Maverick ate the buns". Mom put Maverick in his crate while your gone. Did she, no. Mom comes back and says"gotta go back to the store, Maverick ate the hot dogs".

I don't know how that dog never got a blockage, but peroxide was his friend!

Mason ate a carpenter ant once, a huge one and it stung his tongue, took 2 to hold him down one to hold his mouth open and another to use the tweezers,, I was starting to run out of family members..lol
He loved to eat he bathroom garbage thank god he grew out of that, also flip flops and my favorite bras.... now that he is older he is very chill and doesn't eat anything...
almost forgot 1st week we had him my sister was dog sitting on 4th of july and he puked up a rock, freaked my sister out...

Now Mackie he is my devil dog,
He ate the couch and not just a little almost all of it was torn up, then he got the new couch but only a little, I had to repair it.... he ate shoes, the carpet on the stair case. a bee once that stung his mouth thank god he dropped it, that was a vet trip for a huge swollen mouth. a gel pillow that my dog sitter had, that was a great call to poison control while in line on the pirates of the carribean in Disney, all the paper from a duralog, he doesn't swallow this stuff just destroys it.... the box with car parts that UPS delivered and I left just inside the front door.... never a dull moment here

Bàron gulped down half an avocado pit and all My vet said to sort of mix a couple eggs with a fork and give it to him and about 5 minutes later the peroxide. He did bring it all up and with that green pit in the middle it could have been green eggs and very pale ham . Had to grab it real fast as he was going for it a second time. Should call him Turkey as he gobbles not eats

Miss Zoe is our destructo pup - my husband had started a fire in the firelace last fall and left a box of starter logs on the raised hearth and left to run an errand. I walked into the living room and found she had opened the box and was enjoying on (GAG), I grabbed it from her and got out the peroxide and gave her a dose, we spend some time in the back yard (it was drizzling and we had company coming :( After a few good vomits which I had to clean up right away so she didn't try to I thought OK we're good - it looked like breakfast and the starter logg had all came up - we went back inside - on the leash, walking down the tiled hallway past the carpeted living room she leans towards the carpet (WHY????) and vomits again. We go get the cleaning supplies and she does it again!!! That was finally the end of it - that girl is going to drive me nuts!!!
