Introducing Dixon!

I haven’t properly introduced the newest member of my family yet so I wanted to take a minute to do it now. This sweet boy is my dad’s pup and he was just adopted from a local rescue on 10/9. We know he's 5 months old now and came from down south and was transferred up here in NH with his 3 littermates (2 brothers and 1 sister). He was the last one to be adopted out. We know his mom is a purebred white boxer, but they have no idea what breed the father is. Looking at his pics online I suspected dalmation, but I’m not quite sure about it now. We’ve heard many theories ranging from English pointer, blue heeler, border collie, pit, and lab (I’m sure I’m forgetting one or two).

He was named Davis at the rescue, but my father chose to rename him Dixon as a way to kind of honor Mason’s memory. My dad and Mason were very close and it took over a year for him to decide to look for another puppy. So anyway, he was named Dixon after the Mason Dixon line. I thought it was kind of cute. :)

His first few days with us he was very mellow. Mellow to the point of not wanting to play with toys or with Logan and Abby. We thought we had gotten a boring puppy (even though we still would’ve loved him just as much). Now… oh boy! He’s super active, super playful, and super mischievous! He sure had us fooled. Haha! The only issue we’re having is that he’s having a hard time accepting that the cats are not toys, but he’s getting better with that to.

Logan and Abby love him and it’s working out really well where they seem to take turns playing with him. I will say Abby seems to have connected with him more which surprised me. She’s taken on the role of alpha amongst the dogs since Mason passed away and it amazes me watching how she interacts with him. So much like Mason was.

So with all that said, here are some pics of him. The pic of him eating was taken on his first night home. He still lays down to eat. Right now he’s being fed Fromm’s, but we’ll be switching him to raw in the next few weeks. :)

Thanks guys. Yes, he is adorable for sure! He has a lot of extra skin right now so it looks like he has a lot of growing to do. I'm very curious to see how big he'll get. The rescue is predicting between 60-65lb. He was already at 38lb at his vet checkup on 10/10. He was 4.5 months at the time.

Well congratulations he's a handsome boy! You can see the Boxer part of him but beyond that I can't venture a guest??

But the spot thing, not really that helpful. If you go to White Boxers on face book you'll see lots of Boxers that have spots like that.
