With Boomer recently diagnosed with BCM I am looking to add supplements for heart health. Just not sure which ones to use. I have heard L Carnitine, L Taurine, CoQ10 and fish oil can be beneficial. Anyone here have experience with this?
I am looking for a holistic vet and will ask the cardiologist when she calls with his Holter results.
Hell0 - I think I owe you a response to another email. My Rocco has ARVC since he was two. He was on a regimen of sotalol and we did echocardiographs and holters regularly. A little over a year ago he collapsed and we thought he was gone. It turns out that he built up sotalol in his system and was suffering from bradycardia (the heartbeat was too slow). Once we weaned him off and stabilized him he was reevaluated and it was determined Rocco was in a honeymoon period he is no longer on meds until we deem it necessary. He will be reholtered yearly and also receive and echo to see how his heart muscle is doing. I give him probiotics and salmon oil. Let me know if you have further concerns or questions. Cheers - Deb
Don't know if the below is exactly the TOP 3, but have been recommended
Folic Acid
Cardio Edge
Heart Synergy

My boxer has L-Carnitine and Taurine supplements, it is a liquid called Acecarnicare, she also gets cod liver oil but not too much as it brings her out in a rash. She has a heart murmur grade 3.
