I've been reading mostly everything here and I've learned a lot! Along with some of you helping with my concerns which I really appriciate ☺ Now while trolling the posts, I see that majority of people have atleast 2 pets (which most have more than 1 boxers lol) I've been thinking, should I get a friend (dog or cat) for my little one (11 weeks old Monday)? If so how late is to late? I don't know if I can handle two dogs right now, but I always told myself that's pets should come in sets of 2 so they don't get lonely.

I wouldn't recommend another until the first is reliably trained.
Some people opt for two at once, but that's difficult.
My two are a year apart in age, we got Mongo when Maggie was 14 months old. By then she was house trained and we had done an 8 week obedience course when she was about 9 months old.

Double the trouble if you ask me,double the vet bills, double the food, really though wait till your dog is trained before adding another. Dogs don't really "need" other dogs,we like to think that. But all they need is "you".Get another dog when you're ready and can handle two...

I have a multiple pet household and I would say no your pup doesn't need a friend. I would not have multiple dogs at one time. It happened here over time with a child bring home a abandoned dog or cat or my lack of judgement and allowing another one in for whatever reason. It is very expensive if you do it right. At tops I would not have more than 2 pets. I think you can give them better attention and training and I definitely would not add another with a young untrained pup. Just my experienced opinion.
