I'm noticing as Bane gets older it's getting easier to teach him things. Though I'm starting to notice his bad habits and I don't know how to fix it.

1) He doesn't really play fetch, only when he gets "really" excited
2) When he gets rowdy he goes after fingers and toes and clothing. Not only that but he gets "mean" with it. The growling, ears back, and seems like he goes from playing to hurting real quick
3) He doesn't understand no

I run with him and play with him and when he gets in his "mean" mood I either say ouch and go into another room or say no. Since he doesn't listen to No I try to deter his biting to another toy he CAN chew on and 90% of the time is doesnt work. Just seems like nothing is working. Hes getting to a point where its really hurting and I need to find a way to stop it before he gets bigger or someones going to get really hurt.

First, you didn't state how old he is . As he gets older but how old?
It sounds like you are not dominant enough .If he doesn't understand no, then give him something he understands. A louder, deeper voice: No, clapping hands, or some touching he doesn't like.
While training your boxer, you can't play the victim, if he is stubborn , you need be more stubborn with him even it takes hours .
Who else is in the house besides you ?
Dogs will sense the dominant figure in the house and only take him/her as serious as it gets.
Also , avoid harsh punishments if it gets to that. You want him to respect you not be scared of you.
If you think you can't handle him , best thing is to hire a professional.

"No" without "consequences" for bad behavior means "Nothing!" Your dog is showing you that.

The good news is that you recognize the problem and you are looking to make more "effective changes!" :)

I don't do puppies as such, I do dogs and I tend to work for control these days (The Place Command) and in the past I used "NO" followed by "Down" and "Stay" (once taught) worked out fine!

Down/Stay is a consequence for bad behavior, it is a "correction!" And it encompasses control, that's how I roll. :)

A Down/Stay can be taught like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaVvwbT7iYw&list=PLpo2dVPkDNBXpK7tFZiKKa63erfAy70cn&index=3

Once trained if he starts to go nuts on you?? It would be "NO" followed by Down and Stay! :)

You should also work on "The Place Command":
http://www.boxerforums.com/training/183298-fearful-anxious-flat-crazy-place-command.html

"Every" dog should be taught this! Again control ... once taught if the dog/puppy gets crazy the command would be "Place!"

And of course my "usual" Dog Park warnings, I don't "know" if you do "Dog Parks" but if you do?? And your dog has "issues" by going to a "Dog Park" on a routine basis your dog gets to run around out of control with a pack of dogs and he "learns" that what you say does not matter!

Got more on that one here:
http://www.boxerforums.com/training/171489-training-management-leadership.html

Got more on hands off corrections, "Bonkers and the Pet Convincer" but that can come later.

For more of a "traditional" puppy biting approach see here:

I stumbled onto this trainer awhile ago and "I'm" impressed with her, as always ask questions and welcome aboard. :)

Aww he is a baby and its pretty typical behavior but..you have to teach him now.
We yelped loudly, and or say NO loudly when our boy bite...if he bit more he was put into his crate..not as a punishment if he was acting wild. we would take him out to receive himself on leash of course then immediately to his crate. It was usually that he just needed some quiet time. I'm also thinking this may be your first puppy to train on your own and once his shots are complete it will be helpful for you to take him to obedience class, I usually do 2 sessions...puppy...graduate...lol then obedience again at a higher level
