I'm looking for suggestions on a good dog pack for my boxer girl. Right now she's using a CesarMillan pack and it's very well-made but a bit too long for her. I'd thought she might grow into it but it looks like she's going to be a petite girl. She's 2 yrs old and 43 lbs of muscle.
I'm looking in the $75-$100 range, but could probably go up to $125. This is for our daily 1 hour walks in the neighborhood, so I'm looking for something easy to put on/off, and don't need the extra features for extended hikes. It's mainly so I can tire her out on the daily walk. I put a water bottle on each side and use the extra space for keys, bags, etc.
I read somewhere that Ruffwear was a good pack, haven't seen it at the stores to check it out. She's so lean but with such a deep chest, that the fit is the main issue.
Also - at 2 years old, are her bones mature enough for me to add more than one water bottle on each side?
ETA: this is the pack that looks like it might be a good match- has anyone used it? Approach Pack? Dog Pack ? Backpacking Adventure Pack for Canine Hikes - from Ruffwear
I also looked at the Ruffwear Singletrak Ruffwear Singletrak Pack? | Low-Profile Hydration Dog Pack
But it looks like a longer pack, and that's the issue I'm having right now.
This is the pack we have now, in a Medium, and it really is a great pack, but it's a bit too long for her: : Amazon.com: Cesar Millan Dog Backpack (Medium)
