My little girl is at least part boxer, and I was wondering if all of you could give me an opinion on how much based on her looks! I originally thought half to one quarter but after I took her home, if seemed her personality was mostly Boxer as far as I could tell. Out of curiosity, opinions on what she's mixed with as well?

Hmm I thought we did this already but heck I'll play!

Photo number two the head in profile clearly not a Boxer face but the shape is very similar.

Google images of APBT and I think you'll see it. And I don't advise Dog Parks or "I thought my dog was friendly" dog on the street encounters but I would bet she is much less "gamey" than a true APBT.

Boxers tend to inflict "goofiness" into anything they are mixed with. :)

Why are you so against the dog parks ? Crixus loves dog parks and seeing him happy makes me happy. I don't see a problem them socializing as long as the owners are on top of their dogs. The dog park i go to is like that. Yes there are sometimes aggressive dogs come but they are kicked out right away.

Chip is against dog parks because dogs get attacked or ganged up on by other dogs quite often, which can cause negative behavior in your pup, it's happened to quite a few members. It sounds like your park may be the exception in that owners actually supervise their pups. Please be careful with your pup.

I think that's just the thing, it may seem all hunky dory but it takes one time for your dog or another to become a victim, many of the time it happens so quickly, that you can't react and your left there with a hurt dog that will cost a fortune!! Let me tell ya, a friend of the family went to a "paid" dog park! She PAID a fee annually to go, you would think people shelling out money would be "on top of their dogs," not so much, the pack changes every time a new dog enters , well one new dog came in, came up to her collie they sniffed turned around and the attacker out of no where bite her dog, they got in one hell of a fight, 12 stitches later after an emergency vet visit and likely a $800+ bill she now sees that dog parks are not a good idea..

Interesting! Thanks guys! You know it's so funny, we are pretty knowledgeable about Pitts, and I met her as someone else's foster a few months back at my work and fell in love! Well, we took her home and we thought she looked and acted like a Pitt, but now that she's with us, it's clear she acts more like a Boxer than anything else, so I was curious for some unbiased views about her looks :).
We love her so much, and we've been having such a blast learning about Boxers, she is such a mysterious delight sometimes, even if she wasn't what we expected.
I totally understand the hesitation with dog parks. Wren goes to work with me at the Doggy Daycare I work at daily, and does wonderfully, but I'm still too afraid to take her to our dog park. There is no temperment test, and while I know any handler at would do anything to keep the pups safe at work, dog parents at dog park sometimes only care about there own.
There have been two deaths at my local dog park, even though I live in a very dog friendly city. There have been zero serious injuries at my wits... So... I get it!

WOW I see my Dog Park work here is done! :)

We do "Dog Parks" quite often on GSDForum. Someone always says it's been done, do a search old thread pops up and soon ... there we go again!

But sometimes we do find out things, I tell people just say no, to "Dog Park" but every dog park is different, and the mix of dogs changes, so safe one day and the next day maybe not ... "huh I've not seen "that" dog before" kinda thing.

If people take a dog with behavioural problems (non aggression but say ... no recall/no discipline) he gets to run around all day "learning" that what you say does not matter.

And stunning to me??? Most attacks occur in fact, not at the Dog Park but close to home???

Case in point, me! (I should add "attempted" attacks) I can count four, all within three houses from home!! Two dogs I knew were in my neighborhood and one actual stray.

So bare that in mind also I added another post to this:
http://www.boxerforums.com/general-...f-another-dog-attacks-while-my-dog-leash.html

I should actually start carrying something myself, Rocky seems to be a stray magnet!!

Three attempts on us so far with him and I?? But between us those dogs were persuaded to "chose" a better option "conflict" free.

And sorry about the dogs that did not make it, that is just sad. :(
