Too old for a Boxer puppy?

I wonder what is a good cutoff age to bring a new puppy home! Years ago I saw a woman in her late seventies, who could barely walk, loading a young Boxer into her back seat.

She said she had a fenced back yard, and paid help come in to walk the dog. I still wonder about quality of life, and what would happen to the dog if she became ill, or passed away.

I can't imagine being Boxer less ever:cry_baby:

i am in my mid 60's, as long as my health is good I'd go for it. But I also have a daughter who would be willing to take the dog if something happened to me. This boxer we have now is really hers and she is living at home while she goes to school. Once she can afford her own place she will move along with him. Not sure what I will do, time will tell.
I may just babysit him :) or I may foster pups until they find good homes.

I think as long as you are physically able or have help, it's fine. Also, many boxer rescues will adopt out senior dogs to senior people at a reduced fee or waive the fee entirely.
