Doggy stomach flu?

This past weekend we had a flu outbreak at the doggy daycare I work at, and I'm having a hard time finding info on Doggy flu's. Anyone know anything?
I live in SE MI. We've had maybe 20 or so doggies with symptoms or reported symptoms. Mostly it's been just a day or two of decreased appetite, vomiting, mild lethergy, and I believe diarrhea, but one dog had to stay at the vet for 2 days because he threw up blood, and was dehydrated! All of the other pups haven't been very symptomatic, many just threw up once (usually bile or watery bile, always a yellow-green), didn't eat as much for a half a day, maybe were a bit grumpy, and then were as good as ever.
The dogs that have reported going to the vet have either said that the vet didn't really know for sure what it was, or that the dog probably ate racoon poop and that was the cause. However, it is basically impossible that all these dogs that come to my work all of a sudden out of nowhere got a hold of racoon poop, and our outdoor fences are far too high for a racoon to get in, do it seems like this bug they have just mimics the symptoms.
For all dogs except the one, it seems to be very mild, and I'm not even sure the one case where our pal had to be on IVs was related, but I just want to try and gather all the info I can.
Anyone's dog have the tummy flu this season? Symptoms? How long did it last? Anymore thoughts from vet?
We've obviously been alerting owners and requesting permission to give rice to any boarders, any other suggestions? I just want to help them feel better, and the vets haven't given us much, and I can't find much online, thought the forum might be worth a shot with so many dedicated Doggy owners!

Yes, we've heard about this, it was a big concern last year as it swept through Chicago and we were worried it would make it to Michigan, but we sanitized non-stop, suggested flu vaccine, and luckily our place was never hit. This is just a light stomach flu though, the one your thinking of is a respiratory virus, and none of the dogs have shown any respiratory symptoms.
Of course any bug is a priority for us; nobody wants our pups to feel sick but unfortunately, just as with humans, little bugs and viruses are very common this time of year. And yes, we have been sanatizing the crap out of work, and secluding any dogs with symptoms, and keeping the parents informed. It's a very mild bug, which is definitely good, the downside is that parents often just assume Doggy is having an off-day- three parents I told today about it going around realized their dog had already had it and recovered, without them realizing.
I probably worded things wrong, it's a very light stomach bug; not something I would keep Wren home over. She'd honestly much rather have an upset stomach for a day than miss seeing her pals for a whole week, and I can't say I blame her.
I just wondered if any had anymore tips, like giving rice instead of dry food, or if anyone had any extra info on the doggy stomach bugs. I know it's just a little bug, I just hate seeing my puppy pals feeling less than 100 percent, and want to do whatever I can. Don't worry it's definitely not the Chicago virus or anything near that level.
