Brannon my fawn mixed, has skin tags. About 18 months ago they had grown and changed colors so I went to my vet and he decided to remove the two largest ones and have them sent to the labs. There turned out to be non cancerous. Which was good news to me. My vet basically told me to just keep an eye on the skin tags. If they looked like the ones we removed based on the lab results we would not worry about them. However if they appeared to be different then we should probably remove and test them again. So I would just keep an eye on them and if they change at all I would talk with your vet.

I think skin tags, moles and growths are pretty normal as our dogs become geriatric, just like with us humans.

But, like Pixi7272 said, keep an eye on them for any changes in appearance.

Thanks Im glad Im not the only one then. I hate to say it but for him being 11 and in such great shape otherwise, I think at this point if we did something about them it might do more harm then good.

The cancerous ''tags'' I've seen on my last 2 boxers were not punching ball-like (!) but more wart-like.

And black...mostly like scaring...and mostly on the back legs, lower parts.Nothing anywhere else (afas skin cancer is concerned) in my case.

Well both my pups got a clean bill of health, and we were worried about some other lumps on my 11year old that turned out to be fatty deposits, not tumors, but he said the skin tags were normal for his age and just do to friction etc. So good news.
