My brindle boxer, Pluto just recently developed some sort of rash on his neck. He's only been sick once in his life, so my first thought was his collar was irritating him. Usually he's good when we take him out, but if he sees another dog he pulls hard and I figured it's starting to show.
However, today has made the 3rd day or so that Pluto's had this and it looks like it's spreading/getting worse. I've been washing his neck with antibacterial soap, but is there any medicine from PetsMart or Petco that you'd recommend? We might have to break down and take him to the vet, but I'm a college student on a tight budget... Thanks, Chelsea |

Both of my furbabies had similar rashes under their necks. I took off their collars for 24 hours and gave them some Benadryl and the rashes are almost gone! So I have left their collars off for now and I have ordered natural collars for them (corduroy and hemp). Unfortunately, most collars sold in the stores are made of nylon so I had to order it online. It was a little pricey, but worth it for them because I do not want their allergies to spread.
