Default Red Bump On Back Of Front Leg

Gilly has a red bump on the back of her left front leg. Probably a little bigger than a pencil eraser. It bleeds sometimes but doesn't seem to bother her. Just noticed it a few days ago and after some extensive playing in the woods yesterday it was bleeding a little bit. Something to worry about?

Thanks

A picture would help, could be a milliion things, anywhere from a bug bite, to a cyst, or benign growth? If you would post pics, I think people could compare it to things they have seen, although NO diagnosis is more effective than going to your veterinarian. Thanks

Sounds like it could be a Histeocytoma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histiocytoma_(dog) Like Kidneybeandancer said its best to have a vet look at it.

Here is a pic. It doesn't seem to be getting much bigger. Maybe a little bit.

Yep it looks like a Hystiocytoma (benign tumor)....I would confirm it with a vet....But if its breaking open and bleeding you may want to have it removed....

I had a lab that had 4-5 of them...one by her anus would break open and bleed, so we had them all removed and they never returned....

Last night we were outside playing and she scraped it and ripped it open. Bled pretty good. I read that benadryl could help, is that true? I just don't want to get it cut off unless I absolutely have to.

Thanks

Speaking from experience (my Lennox had a Mast cell removed in Dec and a hystiocytoma in Feb.....PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have your vet do a biopsy. Both growths looked very similar on Lennox and it was a huge relief when the 2nd one was benign. Benedryl/Tagament is supposed to help with Mast cell tumors (not sure about benign growths) and I really do think it helped Lennox's tumor to stay so small
