Has anybody ever had this issue with there Boxers feet/foot?? he doesnt limp or anything.

It is just 1 of Rex back feet that is red (i know looks like reaction).. I've soaked it in Epson salt 1 day so far and sprayed it with Vetercyn but just started to do that on Sunday.. I took these Pictures last night July 24...

Its yeast. Its sore and he has been licking at it which just makes the yeast get out of control. I would soak his foot in a 50/50 ACV mix every day for the next 7 days. Take your fingers and rub in between the pads and toes. Let soak for 5-10 minutes. When you remove the foot, use paper towels or a hand cloth to gently pat dry, then allow to air dry. If you find him licking his foot, then you need to place a booty on it to make sure it stays nice and dry. Always make sure his feet are dry.

I have booties for him for the winter and when I go to work during the week what do you recommend.. i do.. a cone or just booty? i'm sure if the ACV releives itching ect.. he wont touch it as much.. Poor guy cant scratch his own footsie.. I'll doctor him up with your Help!!

I had the same problem with Ren licking and chewing at both her back paws.

Here are some links to the threads I posted from awhile back if you’re interested…

Because she has environmental allergies our vet has her on Hydroxyzine 25mg (1 tablet, 3 times a day) and also takes a 5mg tablet of Prednisone (1 tablet every other day).

By choice we give her Drs. Foster and Smith Cran Health Chewables (1 tablet, 3 times a day) and she’s now at 1 full teaspoon of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil each morning.

For the most part her paws don’t bother her. Every now and then though I will notice her licking/chewing at them so I just lather each one up individually with Selsun Blue and let her soak (standing up) in a shallow warm bath for about 10-15 minutes. This seems to take the itch away.

Her tummy tends to break out more often though due to her “being allergic to grass”. When this happens I spray the affected area with the Betagen Topical Spray once or twice and then it goes away.

Don’t be surprised if you notice discoloration on his nails/paw since he’s been chewing at it. Ren’s back paws and nails are forever stained because she had chewed them. I asked the vet about it to make sure nothing was wrong with her and she called it something, but I just can’t remember what she said it was…

Just be patient and make sure his paw stays dry – that is the main key! Good luck, Dawn! Hope this helped and Rex feels better soon!
Ren sends snuggles and slobbery kisses!
