I know there are a lot of people on this forum that are very knowledgable about raw and I'd LOVE some help as I'm getting all kinds of advice and it's all different.
I started feeding my dogs Healthy Paws raw food which is suppose to be complete. I feed my pug (24 lbs) 3.5 ozs twice a day and my boxer (38 lbs at 9 months) 12 ozs twice a day. My pug was constipaded and my boxer has white poops. I started giving them both a tablespoon or two with their meals. The pug is now pooping.. and it's on the soft side, my boxer still has white poop. My next concern is how do I know which brand is the best brand to be feeding them? I'm concerned about them getting all their nutrients so I want to give them a good brand but at the same time I don't want to be paying $300+ a month on dog food. Next question - I've been told to feed them chicken spines on top of their regular meals or as an alternative to a meal now and then... different depending on who is telling me. Can you please advise me one what I should be doing, thanks!! Also any knowledgable websites would be great. I don't know who else to ask. The store I bought my food seems to want to just sell me things. I was told feeding my dogs cheese for training treats is processed and I should buy their treats! I told the guy it's the same cheese I eat. I love my dogs dearly but if the cheese is good enough for me, it's good enough for them too. Thank you so much in advance! Lorraine |

I use Blue Ridge Beef grinds.
That sounds really bone heavy of she's having white poop and the pug is constipated. I definitely wouldn't add a chicken back into that mix. Where are you located? You might be able to find a better less bone heavy prepackaged raw |

I am NO EXPERT...but here is what I do
Chicken backs in the afternoon as a snack. Bones are good for cleaning the teeth and the bones "firm up" Kona's poop. He gets ground chicken, fish or bison patties as him main meal in the morning and afternoon. I do mix in fresh cut carrots and broccoli. HE really likes the veg covered in meat juice.. LOL I think you could feed chicken backs as a meal or as an "add on" as long as they are getting their daily amount of food. Kona gets 3% of his body weight a day. Training treats...pieces of roast beef, non processed cheese, hot dog..anything really |

Yes, I've been using slices of block cheese and hotdogs for treats. I've also got freeze dried liver. Nikki is only 9 months so needs lots of training treats still |
