I wouldnt say she is skinny, she is however nice and lean. It wouldnt hurt her to gain a couple pounds (2-3 max).

I would try to switch her to something with better protein. Champion Pet foods is a company that I do recommend to those that want to feed kibble. You could try her on either the Acana Grasslands which is lamb based. The Orijen Regional Red had Beef Liver in it.

IMO Raw is the best way to go for overall health and since you are in Toronto, you have so many sources available to you. I feed 5 Boxers for much cheaper on Raw than I do on highend kibbles.

A little backpacking wouldnt hurt either,just have to be reasonable.

A nice backpack like canine equipment or trekking packs with a couple 500ml water bottles in it is a good start.

With leaner dogs,I would recommend gradually come up to max 20% of their bodyweight over a few months time but there is no need to go there,5-6 lbs is enough to do the job.
