Rigby my 6 month old is usually fearless, a great guard dog (no one messes with his family). well today he encountered his first balloon and when it popped he wanted none of it and had to run and sit on moms lap and practically squashed me into the couch lol anyone have a boxer with a weird fear? it was a bit funny but i dont want him to be afraid i think i need to create a positive association with balloons but how?

Pheona does not like loud noises or the fish section of Petsmart. Don't know why. Right now Murphy does not like the dark. We have a night light near her kennel at night.

mine all are scared of balloons and I have yet to find a way to De-sentise them we just dont bring any home I think its something about how the helium ones seem to loom at them and the air ones pop if bitten they absoulutly sit and bark at both kinds and run to momma and hide if they move at all (like when the heat comes on) lol goofy things but are fine with storms and fireworks Brandi likes parades except the loud bass drums those she runs from the other two are fine with parades too (mom of an Rotc kid lots of parades

Duke is afraid of helium filled balloons. The regular balloons, no problem. He'll even pop them. But I had my 40th birthday a few weeks ago and he would growl at the mylar balloon floating around in the house. Then he got used to it but then it lost most of the helium and would float around close to the ground. Then he was REALLY scared of it! Running away from it and hiding behind us. lol We laughed a little and then I disposed of the big bad balloon.
We were out for a walk the other day and someone was letting off fireworks. He did not like it at all! Although his reaction was more of a guard reaction than a "run and hide" reaction. lol |

Bosley is afraid of cardboard boxes. Not sure why but he will either attack then and completely shred it or run from it like it's gonna bite him lol
The rain thing in my opinion, is a boxer thing. It seems none of them like going out in that wet stuff... seems like they're made of sugar sometimes |

Charlie would play with balloons, then run when he pooped them.
The only really irrational fear he had was if his food bowl clinked against another dish. He'd tear up the floor to get away from it, lol. He never did get used to it either.

Mine are both terrified of balloons too, we hosted my Mom's 65th birthday party in April and had a ton of balloons. I ended up having to pop them all because they were so scared of them, it was sort of funny but I hate seeing them shake because they are so scared. I thought they would want to play with them like a ball but nope!!
