Well, it appears at this point that Beau will be making the 380 miles trip to PA with us for Thanksgiving!

I did not call my vet early enough to get him boarded, so he gets to go with! The downside to this is....and please don't hate me....he will have to ride in his crate in the back of the truck. We are going to be full inside the truck with no room for him to be inside. It looks like the temps are going to be in the mid-sixties, so let's hope it stays that way. We are going to wrap his crate in heavy plastic and then wrap a heavy blanket around it so the wind and cold stays off of him. He'll have his big comfy quilt inside as well. He doesn't have the wire type crate, it's the big heavy plastic crate with just the holes around the top and then a wire door. I really think he'll be fine, but I can't say I'm not a bit worried. I worry more about him being scared. I am thinking about asking the vet if there is anything they can give me to calm him for the ride. On the up side....once we get to my sisters house...he will have 100 acres of freedom...for six days!! At my mom's house he'll have 100 acres of freedom...for six days...lol, plus two big dogs to play with and one snapping old jack russel who will teach him his place...lol! My mom's dog buster is a boxer/ridgeback mix....and just as full of energy as Beau. They will have a blast! It shall be an interesting trip!
