After heat cycle?

Lula has successfully gone through her first and only heat cycle!

I'm just wondering how long it will be before her vulva and nipples are back to their normal size. Also, she really put some weight on during her cycle. Anyone else experience this?

Her nipples may be enlarged because of a "phantom pregnancy" (VERY common in dogs) - that happened to my girl who always had a first, last, & only heat! It's great though that you waited for her to mature prior to spaying.

My guess is her nipples will completely go back to the way they once were & your vet will likely suggest not spaying her for a couple of months. I waited three - just to give her that little bit more time to mature physically & mentally -- just don't wait too much beyond that. Once in a great while you hear of a bitch going into heat earlier than the typical 5-6 mos. later.
